artwork and design for his latest album Department of Human Services. His brief required a cut ‘n’ paste aesthetic with a surrealist, 1930-40s feel. He provided a list of characters and elements which feature in the songs and I endeavoured to include as many as possible. The final artwork features vintage advertising, scrap paper and tape and some vector work. cities (Sydney, Brisbane & Melbourne). FK commission a local artist for each event to create an illustration to be used on an A3 poster and A6 postcard. The organisers wanted me to create a bold, colourful and textured illustration that featured some of my characteristic hand-stitched embroidery work. The illustration then inspires the interior public art to decorate the event. The Finders Keepers Markets have a loyal audience among women with alternative, craft and handmade preferences, but men also! Stallholders are selected based on their high quality handmade designs and products - and this needed to be reflected to some degree in the illustration.
